Some people make launch platforms with special ladders that give you a flat surface to slide the foil under and even take a couple of steps. But if you’re good at dead starting, this can be done from a regular work ladder.
The key is to find a stable base to secure the ladder to so you can maintain your balance on top. It’s easier if there are two of you, and while one person steps out, the other supports the ladder on the first step. In that case, you can even use a board, as I try in the video below.
Once up and stable, the start is a simple dead start.
